first_imgairlinesAlitaliaItaly It was disclosed by the Italian government on Saturday, in a document submission at the commencement of the special administration process and appointment of three commissioners who will run the airline in the interim, that its national airline, which filed for special administration last Tuesday, was carrying debt of around 3 billion euros ($A4.45 billion) as at the end of February 2017. The commissioners have six months to assess the airline and ultimately decide whether it will be liquidated, subject to a total or partial sale, or restructured.
